Christmas In Idaho!

We were able to go to Idaho this year for Christmas and spend it with my family. It was so much fun! My brother and his wife Amanda were also able to come so it was a fun family week! Avery was alot more fun this year because she enjoyed opening presents and got excited about what she was opening. We didnt get very many pictures but here are the few that we did get.

Kendall and I took Avery to Kangaroo Zoo and invited Uncle Scott to come with us. We had so much fun! Avery was a little nervous at first but once she got the hang of it she couldnt be stopped.

Day 6 - Universal Studios

On the 6th day we went to Universal Studios and it was AWESOME!! We had so much fun. I especially loved it because when we went on the Studio Tour we got to drive down Wisteria Lane. Which for those of you who watch Desperate Housewives is where they film it. The even cooler part was that they were actually filming while we were there. We didn't get to see them but they were in one of the houses and had a security guard guarding the door. We also got to see the Water World show, which was cool and ride some fun rides.

Avery and I danced with Spongebob but the camera wouldn't work for Kendall so he didn't get a picture. This was as good as we could get as he was walking away.

Day 5 - Sea World

On day 5 we went to Sea World. It was alot of fun and Avery really liked all the animal shows. She was a pain while we were waiting for them to start but once they started she really enjoyed it. We saw the Shamu show, a dolphin show, a seal show and a Circus ole show. They were all really neat and it is amazing how well they can train those animals.

Day 4 - Beach and Disneyland

On the 4th day we went to the beach and I don't have pictures because we forgot our camera but we had alot of fun. Avery slept most of the time. The waves and grandpa helped put her to sleep. After the beach we went home and got ready to go to Disneyland again. We really wanted to go see the Electrical Parade, which was awesome!

Before we left for the beach Avery decided that she needed to put on some make-up. This is how we found her. We were all in the front room ready to leave and I realized that it was really quiet and Avery wasn't around which is never a good sign. We found her in our bedroom and she had gotten in to my make-up. Right when we walked in we caught her sucking on my mascara stick. In this picture she is really mad because I took away the make-up.

Day 3 - San Diego Zoo

On our 3rd day we went to the San Diego Zoo. All I can say is WOW! It was huge. We didn't even get to see everything that was there. We had a lot of fun though and Avery really liked seeing the animals. I think her favorite was the monkeys. They had a fun petting zoo and Avery actually got up the courage to pet a goat. They also had a fun sky tram that we rode and she really liked that.

This hippo was HUGE! I have never seen one before in real life and I couldn't believe how big they really are.

Day 2 - Disneyland and California Adventure

On day 2 of our trip we went to Disneyland and California Adventure. It was SO MUCH FUN!! It was my first time there and obviously Avery's first time and we both loved it. She had so much fun seeing all the characters and riding the rides. Her favorite rides were Monsters Inc., It's a Small World, and Bugs Life. We were so happy that we were able to have her there with us. Mine and Kendall's favorite rides included California Screamin, Indiana Jones and Space Mountain. I also really enjoyed Pirates of the Caribbean.

In the Bug's Life area there is a place were they make the kids feel like little bugs and they have leaky faucets and stuff that spray water. Avery was nervous at first but loved it after she saw grandma go in it.

Allred Family Vacation Day 1

Last week we went with Kendall's family to California for a fun family vacation. We had so much fun and we did SO much while we were there. We stayed with Kendall's sister Alli, in her apartment. We had so much fun just spending time together. Our first day there was a Sunday so we went to church and then of course we all took naps. After we were all rested we went for a drive down the coast. We stopped at the Newport Temple and it was so beautiful. There were flowers everywhere.

After the temple we went to Laguna Beach. Avery loved playing in the sand. She also really enjoyed playing in the water but the waves were so big that they were making her fall over and she didnt like that. We bought her a little bucket and shovel and she has so much fun scooping up the sand and putting it in the bucket.

Manti Pageant and Anderson Family Cabin

We are finally back blogging after a six month break. We were just so busy I never had any time to blog but here we go. My mom, brother and sister came into town a week ago and we all went to the Manti Pageant. My grandpa has a cabin up in fairview so we decided to stay the night there after the pageant instead of trying to beat the traffic home. It was so much fun and Avery really enjoyed the outdoors!

Now this was Avery's favorite part of the cabin. There is a pipe that brings in fresh spring water and it is really good but it is freezing cold because it is just melted snow. Avery loved drinking this water but it was so cold it instantly turned her face bright red.

And this is just a cute picture of Avery. She is now 15 months old and definately has her own little personality. If you aren't doing what she wants you to do she will let you know!

Lunch Date with Mom and Dad

The other day Kendall and I went to Lunch and Pizza Factory and we brought Avery with us. We had just been to her 9 month check up and the doctor had told us that she can eat pretty much anything as long as it is small enough for her to chew. So we decided to make her a little plate of food as well. She thought she was so special having her own plate and eating with us. After lunch we met up with our friends and went to the mall. We let Avery ride the marry-go-round and she loved it! She was smiling the whole time. She is such a fun girl and we love having her in our lives.

One Fish Two Fish....

We went to the aquarium in Sandy on New Years Day and it was so much fun! We went with Kendall's family and our friends Karley, Jerimiah, and Adley. Avery loved watching the fish and she would put her hands on the glass trying to touch them.

They had these really fun little caves that Avery loved walking through. They also had this snail that Kendall put her on and it was so funny because she got so excited. She thought she was really riding it.

Thanksgiving!

This year for Thanksgiving we went up to Boise, ID, to be with my family. It was so much fun because everyone was there and it was just a fun to spend so much time with the whole family. Of course we went shopping of Friday, all the girls went together and the boys went looking at cars and guns. We went to Twilight while we were there which was a great movie. We also had fun playing hand and foot. It was Kendall and I against my mom and Jen and we beat them so bad we made it my mom and me and Kendall and Jen. Of course my mom and I won and in Jen's defense she had just gotten her wisdom teeth out so she was a little out of it. Jen and Ryan both were under the weather while we were there. Jen had her wisdom teeth out and Ryan got his tonsils out. They were troopers though and hung out with us and had fun. Also while we were there we helped clean out my parents storage shed and we found some of our old toys. We found this baby doll that Avery LOVES! She always has it and if you ask her where her baby is she will look around for it. All in all it was a great weekend and we are so grateful that we were able to spend it with family!

Avery got her own special plate on Thanksgiving and loved every minute of it. She felt like such a big girl.

After dinner she thought she would help with the dishes.

This was her absolute favorite thing at my parents house. They had a nativity set and she was so fascinated by it. We would set her down and she would immediately head over to it.

My parents have this little rocking chair for kids. She was so funny because she would sit in it and rock her body back and forth to make it move. She is so smart!

Fall Time!

We finally decided to rake our leaves and we had so many. Avery enjoyed being outside and we just let her crawl around. We sat her in a big pile of leaves and she just looked at us like "what is going on?" We were happy to get all our leaves raked up though because they are getting everywhere. Anytime we walked into our house we would track leaves all through it so now we don't have to worry about it anymore.

A Mover and a Grover

Avery has become extremely active. She is always going, going, going! After I clean up one mess she is already into the next. Here are some pictures of a typical day in our house.

This is her all time favorite thing to do. She crawls over to the oven and climbs up it and then blows bubbles for like 5 minutes. Then she will look at me to make sure I am watching her and then she will keep doing it.

This was really funny. We keep all her toys in a laundry basket and one night she was looking through it to find a toy and she just decided to climb in. She was so proud of herself once she got in there. She just sat in there for awhile reading her books and playing with her toys.

Here is another fun thing. She climbs under the recliner and attempts to stand up and then she cries because it hurts her when she tries to stand. But being the stubborn baby that she is she just keeps trying thinking that eventually she will be able to stand up.

This is another one of her favorite things to do. She climbs up the DVD case and pulls EVERYTHING off. It drives me crazy! She enjoys it though so I let her. Soon though I am going to teach her to put them back on the shelf.

Kendall loves to have Xbox parties at our house. They set up Xbox's in a couple of rooms and link them together and all play against each other. This time Avery thought she would join in and it was pretty funny. We put the headphones on her and she could hear the Xbox live guys talking and she kept yelling back at them. We couldnt stop laughing. She is such a funny girl.

On Saturday we decided to take Avery on her first 4-wheeling trip. She loved every minutue if it and just kept yelling and laughing. She rode in front in the baby carrier and loved the wind in her face. We will definately have to take her again.

The other night we can home from dinner at the Allred's and Santa Clause had been to our house. Avery had a ton of presents that had been left in her crib and it was so awesome! She got diapers, wipes, lotion, clothes, pink boots, and a blanket. It was so fun coming home to that and we love our secret Santa Clause and thank them VERY VERY much (Scott and Amanda). Your awesome!!!

Avery the other night discovered that she can lay on her belly in the bathtub and she loved it! She was so funny and she loves drinking water and since she was so close to it she kept dunking her head into the water and try to drink it. Of course she would end up choking on the water because she would dunk her whole head under but it was still funny.

Gardner Village

Kendall's mom was so nice to take Avery and I to Gardner Village last week and we had a blast! The whole place was decorated with halloween stuff and there were funny witchs everywhere. They had a petting zoo and Avery was terrified of the baby goats which was actually pretty funny and they also had a bunch of little shops. We had so much fun and are so happy that Grandma Allred took us. Thanks!

After all that fun though we wore poor Avery out and she was ready to go home.

Avery is growing up so fast and she thinks that she is older than she is. I caught her attempting to stand in her crib the other day and I couldnt believe it. She is so fun and we love her so much. She amazes us more and more everyday.

Concert in the Park

Last night we went to the Concert in the Park and it was so much fun. Katie and her cousin Mistee both played and sang in it and they did so good. The weather was just perfect and it was so nice to be able to just lay outside and listen to music.

They did so good and we were all so proud that we knew the best musicians up there.

Pismo Beach

We went to Pismo Beach, CA a couple weeks ago with Kendall's family and it was so much fun. It was Kendall's family reunion and so all his family was there and we all got to spend time together. We went to the beach every day and just had so much fun. Kendall's family rented a house in Pismo and we all shared it. The weather was really chilly though and I even had to go buy Avery some warmer clothes because I brought all summer clothes. Avery loved the beach and especially the sand. Every time I put her down in the sand she would immediately grab a hand full of sand and put it straight into her mouth.

The week started off with some fun morning tennis games. We did doubles and rotated everyone in and out. It was alot of fun.

Avery became a master at her fun new trick that she does with Kendall and she was so happy that she was so good at it. She would just get the biggest smile because she knew she was doing something special.

I ate a chocolate covered scorpion while we were there and I wont be doing that again. It was not very good.

Avery loved the beach. I decided to dig a hole and sit her in it because that way she would be able to sit up and look around. She actually thought it was fun being buried but it also brought the sand alot closer to her mouth and she would lean her face down and just shovel the sand into her mouth. She is a funny girl.

This is a picture of Avery on our way to the Farmer's Market. That was so much fun and she loved all the loud music and watching all the people.

This was Avery's first bath in the sink and she didn't really know what to think of it. She is so use to have lots of room to kick and splash so she was a little confused when she was squished into this little sink.

This was the last night we were there and it was FREEZING!! We were so cold Avery's cheeks and nose were so red but we had alot of fun walking around and sight seeing.

These last few pictures were taken our last day there. Everyone was sad to have to be leaving but we had so much fun and we were so happy that we got to go. We cant wait until we can go back again!

Spanish Fork Rodeo

It has been a few weeks since we went to the Spanish Fork rodeo but I figured I need to get these pictures up. We had so so so much fun. We went with my family and we had a great time. Avery really enjoyed it and actually watched it a lot more than I thought she would have. At the beginning of the rodeo its really cool because they have three guys parachute into the arena and it was so cool to watch them jump out of the plane and then land right in front of us. The bull riders were also really cool and they all did really good. We really enjoyed spending the time with my family when they came and loved having them here. We sure miss them!

We bought this jumper for Avery and she absolutely loves it! She gets so excited whenever we put her in it. She just jumps all around and laughs and just has a good time. She was so fascinated by the fabric on her swing. She would start bouncing and then get distracted by the fabric and become entranced. She also cant control where she is facing and so she is always facing the wrong way and trying to turn herself but she cant. She is a funny girl. We love her so much!!

Happy 4th of July!

Well Avery's first 4th of July was pretty exciting. We went to see Hancock with Kendall's family and then we went and had a BBQ over at their house. We just kinda relaxed and hung around the house which was fun. They had a slip-n-slide for all the little kids and so I put Avery's feet in the water and she really enjoyed it until one of the boys slid down fast and splashed her right in the face. It was actually pretty funny. After that she was done with the slip-n-slide. Avery got this super cut 4th of July outfit from Grandma Dean and she was so dang cute in it.

Avery was loving life because we let her have a Popsicle and she thought it was the coolest thing ever. She loved it so much that she sucked all the ends of the Popsicle white. It was pretty entertaining.

She got extremely sticky though and we had to give her a bath before we went and watched the fireworks. After her bath we went and watched the big PG fireworks from their front yard. We could see them perfectly and we didn't even have to go anywhere. Like the crazy baby she is, Avery fell asleep while they were going off. I don't know how she slept with all that loud booming. After that she went to bed and Kendall and Brennan put on a firework show for us and they did a great job. All in all it was a great 4th of July and we were happy to just be able to relax.

So this last weekend we went up to Idaho to visit my family. Kendall, my dad, Scott, Kendall's dad, and my uncles all went on a motorcycle up to Yellowstone and Jackson Hole and I stayed behind with my mom. The boys had an awesome time and they were able to get some great male bonding time in. Total Kendall rode about 1300 miles and I thought that would make him not want a motorcycle anymore but it did just the opposite because he wants one even more now. He got to rent a Harley Davidson Ultra Classic which is like the Cadillac of motorcycles. They had lots of fun and im so glad he got to go but I am also so glad he is back because we definitely missed him.After they left on their trip me, my mom, Ryan and Avery all left to go camping. We were all so excited because I haven't been camping in awhile and it was just going to be lots of fun. The place we went had a hot spring pool which was alot of fun. We all went swimming in and really enjoyed the nice warm water. There was this fun little creek right behind out campsite that we went to go play in but the water was ice cold and Avery hated it. She got really mad when I put her feet in it. After all the swimming and playing it was bed time for Avery and we made her, her own little sleeping bag in out tent.
After Avery went to bed we sat around the campfire and just had alot of fun. We roasted marshmallows and looked at the stars. It was alot of fun because we just got to talk and have fun with each other without any interruptions. That night we all froze to death because it was so dang cold and I was very happy when it was time to wake up so that I could go stand by the fire and drink hot chocolate. Cam[ing was so fun and we loved every minute of it. THANKS MOM for making our weekend so fun!! We love you!After we packed up and headed back home we all got cleaned up and went out to dinner where Avery was the star attraction. We had 4 different waitresses come up to us to tell us how beautiful she was. Now I know she is beautiful because she is my baby but it is also alot of fun when other people tell you how pretty your baby is. She sat in her Bumbo on the table with us and just felt like such a big girl. She really likes to look at things now and so we gave her this menu to look at and it was so funny because it was the beer and wine menu and she looked so interested in it.

Aunt Jennifer was at Youth Conference for a couple of the days we were there but when she came home she went on a walk with Avery and they had some good aunt/niece bonding time. While we were at my parents house Avery and I shared the same bed (which I will never do again). She moves so much in her sleep and she pretty much pushed me off a queen size bed. She is a silly girl.Well after all that fun the boys came home all in one piece and I was so happy because I missed my hubby. Avery was so excited to see her dad, she just got a huge grin on her face when she saw him. We stayed one more day and then headed home on Tuesday. We always stop at the same gas station when go to and from Idaho and this time we got shakes and let Avery get out of her carseat for a minute so she could stretch. While she was out she decided that she wanted to drive the car. It was pretty dang cute and she is already just like her daddy loving cars!

Boating Time!

We took Avery on her first boating trip a couple weeks ago and she had alot of fun. We went with aunt Kelsie and uncle Brennan and Duke and it was really fun to hang out with everyone.

We dipped Avery's feet in the water and at first she didn't really like the cold but the second and third time she started to really enjoy it.After that we watched the boys wakeboard and Avery feel asleep. She is so funny because she can sleep through the loudest bumpiest things but if its quiet she cant sleep at all. Kendall did a great job wakeboard and got some really good air. We all cant wait until we can go again. Thanks Bren and Kels for going with us!

This was Avery's first time to go swimming and she LOVED it. She didn't cry at all and even when we dunked her under she just smiled and thought it was funny. I don't know how we got so lucky to have such a fun, easy going baby but we sure do love her. We went to the PG pool with our friends Kyle and Serene. Thanks guys for going swimming with us it was a lot of fun!

Every Monday Kendall plays Softball. He absolutely loves it and we love watching him. He is really good and usually always hits a homerun every game. He plays with Uncle Brennan and all his cousins. It is so much fun. This was one of the first games that Avery went too. We sure our proud that we get to cheer for such a great guy!

Blessing Day!

Avery's blessing day was so special. She was blessed on June 1, 2008 and Kendall blessed her. He did such a good job and I was so so proud of him. All our family was there to help us celebrate this special day and we did a fun little BBQ and Kendall's parents house. We are so greatful for all our parents and brothers and sisters and everyone else that came and love them so much!

Avery's first bath at home was quite the experience. She screamed the pretty much the whole time. We had to give her a sponge bath because her umbilical cord couldn't get wet so she was really cold. We thought it was pretty funny because up until this time she never really cried because she was so drugged up from all the medicine she was getting. Even in the hospital when they would give her shots or draw blood she wouldn't cry at all. So we thought it was fun hearing her cute little cry. She did like it though when we wrapped her up and started washing her hair. It really relaxed her and in the end she came out all nice and clean.

Avery Leigh Allred was born on March 23, 2008 and 10:38am. She was 7lbs. 1oz. and 20 inches long. Her labor was not at all what I thought it would be. On Saturday the 22nd I went on a hike with my family up to Bridal Veil Falls. I started feeling little contractions but didn't think much of it because I had been having them on and off for a couple of weeks. After that Kendall and I went to the annual Allred Family Easter party and my contractions continued throughout the whole party. After that I went and watched a movie with my family and Kendall had an Xbox party at our house. My contractions started getting stronger around 10pm so I decided to head home. After I got home there were about 10 people at our house playing Xbox so I just went and laid down. Around 11:30 I decided it was time to go so I told Kendall and he immediately sent everyone home. We headed to the hospital and I was worried it was just another false alarm so we didn't take anything with us. When we got there we found out I was in labor and that we would be staying. We also found out that I had a pretty high fever and when they broke my water they realized that there was a very serious infection in the amniotic fluid. They said that if Avery wasn't born quick enough that I would have to have a c-section. Well after we found all that out I got my epidural which was awesome for the first 6 hours, but for the last 4 hours it completely stopped working and I ended up having a natural delivery. The doctor got worried that she wasn't coming out fast enough so she used forceps to pull her out which was actually kinda nice because I was getting so tired of pushing. Then and 10:38am Avery Leigh Allred was born and it was awesome. Since I had that infection the NICU team was there and immediately took her and checked her out. After that they let us hold her for about 5 minutes and then they took her to the NICU where she stayed for the rest of the 48 hours. She had to be on IV antibiotics the whole time to kill the infection.
Well after all that I got a 4th degree tear and hemorrhaged after she was born but in the end it was completely worth it. She is amazing and Kendall and I don't even know what we would do without her.
